2026 School Captains

This year, we've had an overwhelming number of outstanding Year 11 applicants who put their hands up for a 2026 school leadership position. It takes courage and commitment to nominate, and I applaud every student who stepped forward.

Our 2026 School Captains will be officially announced in Week 10, with the symbolic jacket handover from our 2025 Captains to the incoming team.

To all the other inspiring candidates: remember, leadership is not defined by a badge alone. Each of you has shown initiative and determination, and I know you will continue to influence and support our school community in meaningful ways as you make 2026 your year.

Year 11

At this week’s Year Level Assembly, students were reminded about the importance of attendance and uniform expectations.

  • Attendance: Students are expected to maintain at least 95% attendance. Missing school can have significant academic and social impacts. Research shows absenteeism is linked to increased social isolation, lower engagement, and potential emotional or behavioural challenges. If students are absent, parents/carers must notify the school and provide a valid reason. In senior school, absences that affect assessment require a medical certificate.

  • Uniform:

    • Formal uniform – Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

    • Sports uniform – Wednesdays and Fridays.

    • Students with Physical Education or Sports & Recreation on formal days must bring their sports uniform and change in and out before and after class.

    • Students needing to borrow uniform items must see Student Services before school or request a pass from their LAM, HOD Senior School, or myself.

    • A reminder that facial piercings are limited to a small nose stud. Nose rings, septum piercings, lip/eyebrow rings, or dangling earrings are not permitted for workplace health and safety reasons.

Year 12

As we move into Term 4, Year 12 students have just three weeks of scheduled classes before external exams begin. It is crucial students attend every day, finalise their assessment tasks, and ensure they meet requirements to secure their QCE credits.

External Assessment Resources

To support Year 12 students undertaking General subject exams, the QCAA has updated its online resources here. These include:

  • Guides to help students understand and prepare for external assessments

  • Key dates and schedules

  • Approved equipment lists for all assessments

  • Student directions and requirements

Students can access these resources directly on the QCAA website.

Year 12 Student Portal

The Student Portal gives students access to personal learning information, subject results, and their learning account. All Year 12 students should now have registered. Those who do not know their LUI number should contact the Senior School office for support.

Registering to Receive Your ATAR

All ATAR-eligible students must register with QTAC to receive their ATAR result. This process is separate from applying for tertiary courses. Registration requires a LUI number and includes email confirmation from QTAC with a code to finalise sign-up. Students can visit the QTAC Website and click on ATAR and then ATAR Portal and sign up. Students are encouraged to see their allocated QTAC Support Person for assistance or complete the process online via the QTAC ATAR Portal.

Final Note

I wish all our senior students a well-earned break. Take the time to rest, recharge, and return in Term 4 ready to finish the year with energy, focus, and confidence.
