The semester, two Year 7 Visual Art cohort has embraced the opportunity of Yeronga Celebrates to let their creativity shine.

Collaborating with Miss Conny and the Heal programme, students set about building pots to sell at a small plant stall.

The ‘Story Pot’ unit fits perfectly this term because so many students have such amazing stories to tell at such a young age!

When Jonti’s Nan stopped into our stall, she shared the story of her cultural tattoo from PNG.  This was the same pattern her Grandson proudly used on his pot!

Aman made his pot in memory of his father who loved plants.  He was delighted when it sold to another stall holder from MDA (Multicultural Australia).

Jerry’s pot told the story of the challenges being an international student and it is now displayed proudly on Miss Growns-Lieu’s desk.

Shout outs to Dyson who kept his frail plant alive with sheer love and will power.  Jakata and Luca who manned the stall with dedication and professionalism.  Also Wafda, Adila, Helen and Elsa who made gorgeous decorations from pom-poms and pool noodles!!
