Temporary Students and Study Tours Highlights

Farewell to Our TRA Students from China

This week we waved goodbye to our amazing TRA students from China after an unforgettable five weeks of learning, laughter, and making memories.

From Week 1 through Week 3, we were joined by Lani, Matthew, Jeremy, Nathan, and Mao — each one diving into new subjects and making friends along the way. Here’s what they loved most:

  • Matthew & Mao found joy in Maths, happily crunching numbers and solving tricky problems.
  • Nathan was all about Digital Tech, exploring the world of coding and creativity.
  • Jeremy loved Ethics and Choices — deep conversations and maybe the company of a certain someone special.
  • Lani fell in love with HPE, she especially loved the way our HPE teachers delivered interesting lively lessons.

Weeks 2 to 4 brought us Shirley, Hanson, Dishy, Catherine, Wendy, Marian, and Bruce, who jumped straight into Aussie school life. Weeks 2 to 5 welcomed Queensley and friends, adding even more energy to our classrooms.

When asked about their highlights:

  • Shirley, Wendy, Bruce, and Hanson loved making new friends.
  • Marian, Dishy, and Catherine were amazed at how relaxed Aussie school life is compared to China.
  • Queensley? She discovered true love… at the tuckshop.

Speaking of which — a massive shout-out to our incredible tuckshop ladies. The pizza was a weekly sensation and will go down in TRA history as legendary.

To all the staff who welcomed, taught, and encouraged our visiting students — thank you. You’ve given them memories they’ll carry long after their flight home.

Safe travels, TRA students — you’ll always have friends waiting for you here in Australia!

Shanghai Shenzhou Study Tour: A Memorable Week

From Monday, 28 July to Friday, 1 August 2025, we had the pleasure of hosting the Shanghai Shenzhou Study Tour. Over these days, students enjoyed a rich program including:

  • Welcoming presentations
  • School tours
  • Classroom experiences alongside their Yeronga buddies
  • Icebreaker games and engaging English lessons and new game of pin the tail on the Kangaroo (created by Ms Zagami)
  • A fun-filled cooking class where they decorated pavlovas and created classic Australian childhood treats like chocolate crackles and honey joys

Special thanks go to the wonderful teachers who supported our visitors and to our Yeronga student buddies, many of whom were first-time buddies — your kindness and friendship made a lasting impression!

To celebrate this successful exchange, we’ve put together a video and photo collection capturing the highlights. Keep an eye out for these special memories soon!

Thank You

These amazing experiences wouldn’t have been possible without the teamwork and support from our entire community. Thank you all for making these study tours so meaningful and memorable.
