Principal's Report
Welcome to Term 3!
I’d like to begin by congratulating all of our students on their Semester 1 report card results – they were, once again, some of the strongest we’ve seen at Yeronga. This is a reflection of the hard work and commitment of our students, and the incredible dedication of our staff. We’re proud of the continued improvement and excellence across every year level.
A big welcome back to our students and staff who recently returned from the study tour to Japan. What an amazing opportunity – and I know there are memories from the trip that will stay with them for life. Planning is already underway for the next international student experience, so stay tuned!
We’ve had a very full start to the term. This week, we celebrated NAIDOC Week, and it was fantastic to see so many of our students proudly leading cultural activities and sharing their stories. We also welcomed students from local primary schools to join us for parts of the celebration.
At the same time, our Year 11 students headed off to their Leadership Camp, where they certainly embraced the challenge – despite the cold, the mud, and a few soggy socks! We're looking forward to hearing more about what they learned and how they’ll take that leadership back into the school.

This weekend is also our P&C Trivia Night. We hope everyone attending has a fantastic time – thank you to our hardworking P&C and community for pulling the event together. It’s always a fun night and a great way to support the school.
Looking ahead to next Wednesday, 6 August, parents have been made aware of planned Protected Industrial Action. We are working closely with the Department of Education around the processes involved, and we will provide further information to families as soon as possible to help you plan.
As always, thank you for your support and involvement in our school community.
Have a wonderful term.
