Yoshida, Haney.jpg

On Friday, 15 August 2025, Yeronga State High School will come alive with the sights, sounds, and flavours of its vibrant multicultural community as it hosts its much-loved Yeronga Celebrates Multiculturalism festival.

This biennial event is a joyful showcase of the school’s deep commitment to inclusivity, global citizenship, and cultural pride. The full-day celebration includes a rich program of activities, performances, and community engagement that reflect the diversity of the student body and wider Yeronga community.

Morning Highlights

The day kicks off bright and early with an Aussie BBQ Breakfast in the D Block courtyards, followed by a series of student-led workshops and a heartwarming Parade of Nations and Cultures, where students don traditional attire representing their heritage. The event also includes a moving Acknowledgement of Country, a Principal’s Welcome, and vibrant cultural dances.

Midday Festivities

The midday segment features a bustling Food Festival with global cuisines, and the Futsal Final Tournament for some friendly competition and school spirit.

Afternoon & Evening Extravaganza

As the sun continues to shine, the International Concert, featuring the beloved Staff Band, takes centre stage in the Cultural Centre. A colourful Colour Run follows, adding an energetic splash to the day.

The festival continues into the evening with open workshops for the community, more food stalls, and a formal Evening Welcome with another round of live performances and heartfelt acknowledgements. The On the Green Bar, run by the school’s P&C, adds a festive touch for parents and guests.
