NAPLAN Success Across Year Levels

Yeronga students have shown commendable progress in their 2025 NAPLAN results. Year 7 students excelled in Spelling and Reading, with nearly 70% achieving Strong or Exceeding levels, and Numeracy results highlighted a solid foundation with over 60% reaching Strong proficiency. Year 9 students continued this trend, particularly in Spelling and Reading, where more than half of the cohort performed at Strong or above. These results reflect the dedication of our students and staff, and we celebrate the strong literacy outcomes and consistent growth across cohorts.

Celebrating NAIDOC Week at Yeronga

Yeronga State High proudly celebrated NAIDOC Week with a vibrant morning of cultural connection and creativity. We welcomed First Nations students from Moorooka State School, Junction Park State School, and Yeronga State School to join our celebration. Together, students painted boomerangs, designed artwork inspired by Dreamtime stories, and played traditional games that honoured Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. The event was a joyful expression of community, storytelling, and shared learning, reflecting our commitment to reconciliation and respect.

On Monday, Peter and Xavier in Year 7 returned to Moorooka to address their assemblies about NAIDOC Week and represented our school. We were extremely proud.

Throughout this week, YSHS will be conducting assorted NAIDOC activities.
