Engagement & Wellbeing: Student Voice

Belonging Survey Results: We’ve been analysing student feedback on what helps them feel included. Top themes included friends, favourite teachers, and activities like breakfast club. At the Student Summit, students produced the following ideas to enhance belonging and connection for all staff and students:

1. ‘Consultation’ – teachers check in on wellbeing of students during assessment time​

2. ‘Spend time together’ – in a situation where someone has been bullied, the wellbeing team facilitates relationship building and time with the students​
3. More student-led clubs and events​
4. ‘Quiet space’ – students have 3 passes a term to go to a quiet space instead of class​
5. ‘Motivational speakers’ – study inspiration e.g. how to manage school work load

Student Leadership and Voice:

Horizon Women’s Hub: Women's Hub met with Minaz last week and talked about how to be assertive. We will be meeting again soon to shape the upcoming breakfast event with a special guest speaker. Planning is underway to spotlight young women’s leadership and networks.

SRC Check-In Meeting: Reminder that our Student Representative Council meets on even weeks Tuesday first break in the ProLounge at the top of D block. Everyone welcome!

Attendance Drive: Let’s work together to keep our attendance strong. Being here helps others feel connected — every day counts.

Jobs & Careers: Year 10s who have recently secured jobs are reminded to balance work and study. Well done to those who’ve stepped up!

Library Leadership: Shoutout to Parmiss for leading the promotion of the monthly library theme and researching book lists that reflect our diverse school community!
