Brisbane City Council | 2025 back-to-school district service changes
In 2025, Brisbane will experience the largest uplift to our bus network in over a decade.
The new network, called Brisbane’s New Bus Network and complemented by Brisbane Metro, will improve reliability and increase capacity to get you where you need to go, at the times you want to travel. These changes will be made in stages to support you and your students in navigating the new network.
On 28 January, we will be rolling out Brisbane Metro on the M2 route (previously known as Route 66) from UQ Lakes to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. M2 services will not stop at Dutton Park Place. Customers wishing to travel to Dutton Park Place will need to transfer to a different service.
This stage will also implement changes to some urban and district services, prioritising student connection to schools and universities in time for the new year. There are currently no planned changes to district school services for your school.
Your staff and students can plan their journeys by visiting Translink’s journey planner and school service finder, calling 13 12 30 or downloading the Translink app.
