On behalf of the Yeronga State High School P&C, welcome to 2025! I hope everyone- parents, carers and students- has settled in to the year well so far. Other than regular meetings, P&C activities for 2024 included a couple of informal social get-togethers, organization of a free BBQ at the school Open Day, a working bee and a large investment of funds into the School’s Pay it Forward fund to help families facing financial challenges meet the costs of uniforms, the resources scheme and excursions, among other things.

For 2025 we’d love to see plenty more engagement from parents and carers in the School community, and there are a few things to draw your attention to that might help!

First, we’ll have an informal get-together to allow us to re-connect with or meet fellow parents and carers- that will be at the Moorooka Clubhouse (Koala Rd Moorooka) from 3pm on Sunday 23February. We’ll either be inside or outside depending on conditions (we’ll have signs), hope to see you all there. Kids welcome.  

Second, there is a wonderful fundraising event- a Trivia event, ‘Yerongapalooza!’- planned for Saturday 15 March. Please do save the date! Doors will open at the Yeronga SHS School Hall at 6.30pm, with first trivia question at 7pm. Tickets will be $25 each, with all money raised going towards an outdoor table and shading outside P block. To kick start our fundraising efforts, we were successful in receiving the Indooroopilly RACQ branch Local Giving grant to the tune of $500! Thanks to RACQ for their generous support.

Finally, our first meeting of 2025 will be happening on Monday 10 March, from 6.30pm in the Professional Lounge at Yeronga SHS (above reception). All welcome! Find out what the P&C is up to and how you can contribute to the wonderful Yeronga SHS community this year. We’ll have membership forms there for new and returning members, please do get in touch with us via pandcyshs@gmail.com if you’d like a Teams link to allow you to join us online.
