Hello and welcome to our first 2025 Newsletter.

Already it's been a massive start to the year and I find myself on a Wednesday asking, "How is it ONLY Wednesday?"

Coming up for our Year 7 and 9s will be NAPLAN. Our window at YSHS will be from March 12 to 17. Both cohorts will do a device readiness test during one Learner Agency lesson in the weeks leading into NAPLAN. NAPLAN captures data about student's knowledge of five areas - Spelling, Grammar & Punctuation, Writing, Reading and Numeracy - and places them in one of four levels for their age group.

Just a reminder, particularly for our new families, laptops must be charged each night, in order to last the school day. 

Please ensure you have downloaded the Compass app. The app allows you to monitor your student's attendance in each class (Red = Absent, Yellow = Late, Green = Present). Email: tech@yerongashs.eq.edu.au for support around Compass, if you're have any issues.

Please also ensure you have QParent access. This is an online way to grant permission, rather than sign notes that were left in the bottom for their bag for a fortnight, or not handed into the office (and there are only 10 spots available).
